Brother-to-Brother is an
intervention program based
on the Trantheoretical Model of Change.
There
are five stages of change, defined as the following:
Stage 1:
Pre-contemplation: No intention of doing the new behavior
Stage
2: Contemplation: Considering the new behavior within the next
6 months, but not within the next month.
Stage 3: Preparation
or Ready for Action: Considering the new behavior
for the next month and has made at least one attempt at the new
behavior in the last year.
Stage 4: Action: Is consistently
conducting the new behavior but for less than 6 months.
Stage 5:
Maintenance: Is consistently conducting the new behavior for
more than 6 months.
