END OF YEAR GIVING

WE WELCOME YOUR DONATION

Season’s Greetings! Your investment in BAO (Birmingham AIDS Outreach) is helping us make Birmingham a healthier and more affirming city. BAO continues to improve the lives of our LGBTQ neighbors as well as those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS, and we thank you for helping us make that happen.  BAO has had an amazing year full of new programs and services for our community.

BAO recently added a new program titled B-FED (BAO-Food-Education-Delivery Project) that expanded nutritional services. Through B-FED our clients now receive fresh meat, fruits, vegetables and additional nutritional services in enhanced quantity and quality in order to promote healthier eating as part of overall healthcare.

Our LGBTQ Youth Center the Magic City Acceptance Center is also growing. Our new program Magic City Acceptance Homes was just launched after a three year detailed strategic plan. This program assists runaway and homeless LGBTQ youth to secure a safe and affirming environment through a foster home program. Our licensed Social Worker facilitates job placement for the youth, as well as counseling and educational services. This support program will empower housing unstable LGBTQ youth to get back on their feet while maintaining a safe and affirming home environment during the process.

Now entering its third year, the Magic City Wellness Center continues to provide primary and specialized STD/STI medical care and counseling services for the LGBTQ community. This year we added to our provider team an additional Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, an Associate Licensed Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Your contributions to the Magic City Wellness Center allow us to continue offering our Magic Care program which allows access to healthcare for LGBTQ individuals  with limited or no health insurance so that they may obtain PrEP, hormone replacement therapy, counseling or primary medical care.

As BAO grows and adds more projects, we face greater expenses and responsibilities. We appreciate your continuing support and investment in BAO now more than ever. Please consider making your year-end tax deductible gift to BAO today.
